Sound familiar?
Do you describe yourself as a reluctant/recovering perfectionist, people pleaser, codependent, or a caretaker, the ‘mom’ of your friend group? If so, I’m here to help you!
Do you feel as though no one really knows or understands you? Your friends have only seen the parts of yourself you want them to see. You’ve filtered yourself and your conversations to fit the mold of the people around you.
Do you have a hard time saying ‘no’ and end up overextending yourself or back out of things often? You don’t want people to be disappointed in you, so you sacrifice yourself to make others happy.
Are you good at anticipating the needs and feelings of others? When you’re asked how you’re feeling, you quickly respond with “I’m fine! “or “I’m great!” The truth is you know you’re not fine and you don’t know what it is you really need.
Have you gone to the doctor for chest pains, arm pains, trouble breathing, dizziness, etc. only to be told that physically you’re healthy? When anxiety, stress, and depression go untreated for a long time, it can begin to manifest as physical symptoms.
The women I see struggle with feelings of insecurity, have a complicated relationship with their bodies, thought spiraling often, and overthinking and worrying over everything. They’ve pushed their needs and feelings deep down for so long that they are unable to identify how they feel or what they need. The women I see struggle with their self-worth and have a hard time understanding who they are.
My role is to help guide you toward your whole, authentic self. I use self-compassion work to heal the parts that you try hide or push away, the parts you feel that are unlovable or unacceptable. I use acceptance and commitment therapy to help identify the changes you want to make and collaborate a plan to get you closer to your goals.
I can help.
I’ve been there.
I am the eldest daughter. I’ve been the caretaker, the ‘mom’ of my friend group. I have been the family member of an emergency responder. I have lived experience with ADHD, OCD, anxiety/panic attacks, and high levels of anxiety and depression. I’m a recovering people-pleaser and perfectionist.
However…
Your experiences are your own. Your story is your own. Through my lived experiences, I can empathize and understand what you’re experiencing, and I hold space and focus on what you need.
